Wow, you're really making some blanket statements there.
I'd see hitch and door locks as about a 2 min disturbance if I were so inclined. They aren't meant to be cheap insurance, more to keep people honest while you're in Walmart. (Wallabymart to you Aussies)
I'm just not sure how your level of tree care would change at the price of gas to haul them home and back. Granted, gas is expensive. But the risk/reward assesment doesn't pan out.
I'd be mad as hell at myself.
If ya aren't getting paid to "go out on those limbs like that"... then you should be!!!
Ya just reduced half of the qualified arbs here who work out of bucket trucks and use chainsaws as "tree cutters".
Ya might wanna examine where your anger is coming from before you throw any more rhetoric.
What kinda trailer was it anyway? All mesh? Partially-fully enclosed sheetmetal?
I'd be lookin around on CRAIGSLIST if I were you and seeing who's trying to off a trailer that looks just like YOURS for cheap. In the future ya might also try writing your name/number in welding beads on the underside of the trailer. I'm sure alot of crooks wouldn't bother to look and it'd give you a source of positive ID.
