I received one lame, limp flipline with a "starter kit", I bought a second which I now believe to be a pole climbing lanyard. After much confusion of the terms and tools I think I now know what a proper flipline is.

I'm most definitely going to get one with a cable inside now as a measure of protection from cutting. I figured that the chainsaw would rip right throuigh it, but never considered that the handsaw could cut it as well.
