I know there's all these new reasons why they suck, but they still work.
Don't use them often for ascending cuz I use hardware for that, but I did make some lanyards the other day and I use em on those for positioning.

no i havent tried SRT yet. I plan to, but as yet im not sure what i'll gain from it, especially at this point in my climbing career.
lanyards, now theres a thought. Ive currently only got one. a Petzl Grillon 3m setup, but for my course it says I should have 2. im going to assume for ART. Now, what does anyone recommend for that? another one? a 3m rope one with a prusik to adjust? a 5m one? a wirecore and a prusik to adjust?
and the syllabus says '2 pole strops' i think. I assume work positioning lanyards are the same thing?

yeah a big shot or whatever is on my shopping list for the nearish future. are there alternative products out there or is it the bigshot on a jameson pole or nothing?
