I could think of a few uses of girth hitches the cambium saver from the ground could come in handy... I'll name one:

Your doing a prune and your high point branch is horizontal or sloping downwards, set your cambium saver like seen in the video and presto you've got some securtity about your cambium saver sliding about. Although I would advise that once you're up there, wrap it around the trunk
