Re: splicing XTC fire line jim you wanna use samsons instructions for that, there the ones ive been using it is quite easy to perform. soak the rope in washing powder for a day to get ride of all the muck and sap otherwise youve got oe hope of splcing it up.
the finl taper is done by marking back where they exit between c and d and pulling on both the core and cover to expose more length cut where you marked them and then starting at where you just cut them make a cut every inch for 5 inches so you finish with 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 where you cut at the exit point.
