New Zealanders compete in ISA Texas TCC Texas had its annual Tree Climbing Championship April 4 & 5. Two new Zealanders, Scott Forrest and James Kilpatrick competed in a crowd of 37 climbers.
Scott and James had the fastest times in the Work Climb with both coming in at 3 minutes, 12 seconds. The next fastest was our State Champion, Miguel Pastenes at 3:27.
Overall, James would have placed second with Miguel beating him by a slim margin.
James went onto "compete" in the Masters Challenge and gave us perhaps the best climb of the day. Time wise, he almost timed out as he had a little trouble setting his throw line but once set, he had a great climb.
