Chainsaw tragics,
i had a thought the other day, "wouldn't it be great if you could watch a video of your Stihl saw being being stripped and rebuilt".
That way someone could show you all the little "tricks of the trade", and it would make your maintenance so much easier.
So over Easter i whipped up this video of me doing a "basic" strip/rebuild of an MS190/019t.
Now by "basic" i mean, i didn't dismantle the power unit.
My reasons for not stripping the engine are;
- I'm to tight to spring for a new gasket set
- If you know how to strip the engine yourself, than you won't need this vid.
- If you are a DIY type, then i recommend you take the power unit to your
dealer and let them install new pistons/bottom end etc...
this will be easier and safer for you, plus you would have already saved
money & time by stripping thus far yourself.
- If you have stripped the saw and found the engine is wrecked, most of the
time people just throw them out and buy a new saw.
This video is just to show you the basics so you can clean,maintain and change minor parts easier.
Anything i haven't shown you should be able work out yourself.
If people find this helpful i will do other vids with the other saws i have.
(but not for awhile, as this one took about 16 hrs of frigging filming,editing,uploading etc...
)
