Default Re: So whadya get up to today.

It s been raining here forever too. Flooding, etc. , maybe 7" rain. Today it broke out in a beautiful sunny 50 degree day.

We took out this uprooted walnut (if you focus you can see it sideways). Not a real big tree but pretty tall woods type. It was stuck in a maple but not well enough to climb the walnut. If you climbed the maple you d be nowhere. It was stuck in the top of a 2nd tree (hackberry) but too high in canopy to use that for anything.

It was down a 20 foot embankment that is hard to notice. An aerial truck was no good as lots of wires above so you don t go under and too deep in to reach and wires too high to try to go over to get there.

Perfect tool is my old 87 truck crane. 70' boom plus 20 ft jib (not needed). Not at all a difficult job w this set up and hook to ball. Can t see why you guys in Oz cannot use this technique.
