Default Re: Questions on Old Oak.

Hello there. Mighty fine Oak there. Difficult to identify type of Oak from that distance as i do not know the area. Any chance of close up photos of stems, buds, bark, leaves, acorns, acorn attachment?
Certainly in Scottish folklore the native Oak, Quercus robur is seen as the King of the woods. Seen as the wise man, where you would go to seek knowledge. Big connections to Druid symbolism. Mistletoe often in habits Oaks. Excellent for wildlife, mosses, lichens. Cracking, robust, tree. You should get loads of internet sites delving further into the folklore of Oak as there is plenty surrounding such tree.
All the best with your searching and look forward to seeing somemore detailed photos.
