Default Re: Dead mans gear

I was thinking about this the other day. I seen a rope and grillon on ebay ive never been on it before and emailed the person to ask what they wanted for it as they only lived 12 miles away. I didnt get a reply and when i seen what thy went for it made me think a) I wouldnt pay that for second hand gear and b) would i want to climb with it not knowing the true history of it. It wasnt for me anyway it was just a thought for a friend who is getting trained up.Years ago I used to use others gear, as therrin said spikes and harness is probably o.k but i wouldnt buy second hand gear that i didnt know the past of. And if sombody died in it no f*?king way in this world would I be anywere near it.
