 Dead mans gear
Since I'm having to buy a lot of new gear it's reminded me of an earlier time in my life. When I was 19 I got my PADI certification for scuba and was looking for a bargain on some diving gear. Wanting to save money I was willing to get something "slightly used" and ran across the deal of a life time. A friend of a friend lost her husband in a cave diving accident and was willing to get rid of what he had for very little, I ended up giving her $50.00 for everything from a full wet suit to 80cf tank w/ an octopus rig. It was less than a year old, used very little and saved me close to $1,000. So here I am again... would you buy a dead mans climbing rig if it was SLIGHTLY used??? |
