Windthrown, I was wondering the same thing about the enforcement. I have a friend who went it a government job. He was a transport compliance officer, anyone who has driven a transport truck knows what I am talking about.
He stops by one day for coffee, and we start discussing what his day-to-day routine was. He pretty much covered west central Saskatchewan by himself. I was surprised, as we all knew that they have hundreds of employees. He explained that the bureaucracy was like an inverted Christmas tree. ! guy working the job and the rest allocating responsibility. OH&S (OSHA US) are like minded. Policy pushers with poor results.
I guess society has elected them, the monster has matured, and more law abiding people will suffer, because we bend some rules. The criminals know how to USE the system. |
