Almost looks like an avacado to me. We had one in Monterey at one place I rented with my brother there. Evergreen, long lobed leaves, smooth margins. The lady that owned the house planted it from an avacado pit 50 years earlier. Avacados from pits are self-sterile (no fruit).

Other than that I would have to see the flowers and go by a key from the leaves, stems, bark and flowers. SF has millions of trees that many immigrants brought with them from places like Italy. Anyway, best I can do with the photos.
