Default Re: my fire wood pile

i split most with a maul . my wife uses the splitter when she splits , but i mostly can keep her buisy with stacking , she is a worker. the red looking stuff you see is cherry , oak, sometimes run into a walnut and maple . but we call maple goffer wood . put a piece in the stove and go fer another one . i only cut dead or fallen trees . i dont like to cut a healthy tree down for firewood , we had an ice storm here 3 years ago , and there are still trees down . we lost alot of nice cherry trees , and oaks , almost broke the tops out of all the maples. so there are plenty of trees down for firewood . here is a picture of my handle saver on my maul.
