Thanks, It ended up being more work than i thought it would be. I got lucky on the drying; the log sat in the garage for a few weeks & the clothes dryer exausts warm moist air in to the garage, which i think made them dry out more slowly. There was still some "checking" along the rays though, but who cares!!!?
