Often my little kids are fighting in the background. Two lil girls squabbling over something I have no idea about. So, I go over there to stop the squabbling, yeah they even scratch, punch and kick each other. As I'm closing in on the crime scene the court's in session, both start giving testimony like bullets flying out of a machine gun.
She did it, no this happened bla bla bla ... and then I get there, hopefully none have run away coz then I gotta go track them down and it gets worse.
Anyway, they both cop it!
And comes the yelling but it was her fault and bla bla bla and they cop more then.
Really bad, copping it is like confiscation of the toy causing the issue, quiet time in the room, and although the parents of angels might argue the odd tap with my back scratcher (but rarely coz it loses impact every time you do it).
Once they calmed down I remind them that I'm not there to administer justice, just silence
as hopefully that paves the way to them thinking about their own skills in trying to get what they want without pissing everyone in the house off.
