It seems to me that one of the biggest drawbacks about forums is that it is often quite hard to know with certainty what emotion is being carried in the text that you read...simply because you don't actually hear the voice of the person writing rather you hear the voice in your head that you give that person.
For whatever reason we can all easily misinterpret what each other is actually trying to get across by putting the wrong intonation into the text they wrote....and once we head down that path its very hard to get away from the voice we've given them. As I have said on other forums

use the smilies to clarify just what is intended or not intended....thats what they're for, they also break up long bits of text nicely.
Its ok to have the jip with someone when there's just cause, and just like life in the real world we're not going to always agree and get on with each other

. However it would be better to be certain you're not getting hot under the collar

for no reason, and generating big chunks of negative energy for yourself and others when the positive stuff in such short supply.
