Therrin, you started this with an assumption, and it was taken personally, primarily because your assumption was just that, making it look more like an accusation. And it had no basis, just your perception.
This is just me on the outside looking in.
Ozinus came on and stated
Quote:

I personally have zero time for anything rigid other than the spur shaft.

and we assume the spur itself, then went on to say
Quote:

Have always found it painful and unforgiving.

which gives the impression that you have actually tried the rigid caddy pads, found them painful and unforgiving (which they're not) and speak from experience of having used them. But from what's been told, it seems you have
not had experience with the caddy pads. The feeling then becomes you are speaking from heresay, dogging something you have not tried. We wonder, are you locked into your way of doing, staunchly defending your way against other ways that you have not tried?
And
Therrin, you need to look at how you come across and how it's perceived. Now you accuse Ozinus of muddying the water. Read back and look at where this started, and look at how offensive those comments were taken. You treat Oz's contribution as if it comes from a green-eared noobie. Question the man before assuming things publicly outward about the man.
Debate, compare and contrast. We're talking about frickin GEAR here, not attacking character, or even criticising another man's way.
It would be healthy to apologise to each other. That's how every good, dysfunctional family works. A lot of great info can be extracted when there's some passion about it, but it's drifted something emotionally charged and unecessary.

Get on track.
