Ekka, I don't think they suck at all. They're comfy as hell, I've been using them for 6 months now (the pads shown in the pic I posted, not those gaffs)

And as Arborjockey mentioned, the 2 straps keep the gaffs nice and snug.
For me personally, I'm 6'7" tall, 36" inseam. I *LIKE* having the two wide-set leg straps. Keeps the gaffs from moving or rubbing. I've actually used the wrap around velcro ones as well, they were okay, no complaints, but I think my setup is more comfy.

I can spend a 10 hour day wearing gaffs, and the only thing that hurts at the end of the day is bottom of my foot. Still thinking about some of those plates.
