That video made me remember one of the STUPIDEST things I've EVER done in my life (not to mention not using autolocking carabiners for safety clip-ins)..
I lane-split between two semi-trucks on the 5 freeway about 80 miles south of Sacramento (in California). Saw them open a gap and went for it... punched it at about 120mph... slid right in between the two and was fighting the vortex coming off of both of them, managed to keep it up and shot out between the front of them going 150mph. Stupidest freaking thing I've ever done... I was sweating for a good 20 mins afterwards going WTF did I do that for?????? |
After work sometimes and every sunday morning I get a little 2 to 5 hour vacation (if it is reasonable weather) and head out into the country. We got some real nice twisties around here. I ve run mine up to 145 and sometimes scream under the helmet. The curvy roads completely take your mind off anything else as you better focus or else.
Last fall I was coming out of a rural into a town and just slowed to about 60 from about 85 and a deer was right in front of me (it was real dark out). I hit the brake and nothing was happening. The only thing I could think of was to grip the bars real tight and stick my knees into it. I know it sounds hard to believe but it worked and he went right over the bike. Went into a shimmy and it tore the lights of shut them off and tore the ignit off and shut eng off. I stayed up for some reason but , again, what a rush. Cost me about 2500 repair and I felt real lucky. I ride an 05 Triumph 1050 Speed Triple. Like was asked what you riding Therrin?
