A quick first aid treatment that reduces the irritation (a little) if you brush against one of these stinging trees is to put elastoplast tape or even packing tape over the affected area (yes it hurts) press down firmly (yes hurts some more) then rip off quickly in one motion (yes hurts a lot) this will pull out many, almost but not quite all the stinging cells providing some relief....best to keep a sharp look out if you know you're in an area where they can grow.
