It interesting, none the less.

There is a possibility that it was just a matter of circumstances, where one chimp accidentally stumbled upon the method, and others mimicked it. More of a learning than seeking for method.

I noticed how my little bird Gizmo, learned to say his name. Then we got another bird Gidgette, which, within 2 months, also learned to say Gizmo. Our other parrots also use the words "chips", "chees" and "yum, yum, yum" when they see us in the kitchen and want some snacks.

Its something they picked up, but never would have done by seeking.
