I always carry a knife. It started while climbing towers. We would use them for cutting electrical tape and ect...I started carrying one in the trees just in case. If you have to do a rescue some times you don't have time to think. I have herd allot of different scenarios but if i have to do a rescue i feel the person hurt has already made a poor choice. In that I don't trust their rope. When I go up their rope will more then likely be cut.
