E.viminalis have thinner leaves, shorter peduncles...and ribbons of bark hanging from branches. We dont get Manna Gum in this region .... Cumberland Plain & Southern Highlands would be the closest.

"Woollybutt" is an appropriate common name .... it has persistent bark, which is grey, scaly/flaky......I'll get more photos in daylight tomorrow..there's one at the end of my street.... & will try to put some scale to pics.
