Default Re: Do you carry a knife?

Hi Treemonkey. I would hazard a guess that 250 mill wouldn't cover the cost of the interest. What a blatant waste of tax dollars, the money would have been put to better use if they ran an electric fence around the large metropolitan cities, put metal detectors at the gates and hired some armed gaurds. Hey they might even curb the drug smugglers, if they wanted to.

I have carried a knife since I was I was a little kid, on the farm with stock around, it was considered a mandatory tool. The one time I didn't have it was at a rural horse show, a horse, was tied to a trailer got spooked and ended up with the rope around his neck. The poor bugger almost choked to death, and all I felt was a feeling of uslessness.

I used to carry a knife on my climbing saddle, and lost it. At a climbing workshop someone asked why I would carry it, after all I had a chainsaw, handsaw and secuteurs all within reach. Have you ever tried to cut climbing line with a handsaw? I did, and even when I wasn't in a panic situation, it was a chore. I now carry a super sharp folding lockblade in the thigh pocket of my chainsaw pants...
