Quintrex, I don't know if you're asking me, but I'll answer anyway. YES, in the Eastern side of the province. The government brought in pruning and removal regulations in January of '05.
The number of infected trees has not risen much in the last 5 year, due inpart to a program called the Costshare elm pruning program. This program splits the cost of pruning between the qualifying cities (and towns) and the Saskatchewan Enviornment Department.
I am attaching a copy of the regulations, have a look and let me know what you think. Its not perfect but it beats nothin'. |
