Lightly worked over= tear-dropped intake ports, different reed material, opening exhaust ports slightly, was worth an extra 750 rpm.
I have had other Macs that were "heavily worked over", at least one of them, a 797, had been modded too much, hard to start, cold blooded and loud. It ran so hard I was waiting for molten alloy to spill from the muffler.
