What Sean said for education and as for climbing I would suggest concentrating on climbing without spikes for a while in the beginning (if your goal is not being a hack). Order "The Tree Climber"s Companion" by Jeff Jepson 2nd edition and there are a stack of video materials that are great for learning and you can use later for teaching. I have about 40 videos bought from ISA. They are less expensive once you join.
