Well, most palm logs sink in a salt water pool so they weigh more than 1000kgm3

Based on that and assuming your palm is 0.3m dia and a piece is cut 0.3m high, the volume of such a piece would be 0.02121m3

Multiply that by 1000 is 21.21kg or 46.76lb
