The buildings reminded me of the huts in Kosciosko National Park...available for emergency use by cross-country skiers in winter...or long-haul hikers in summer....ppl who get caught out in sudden weather change....these huts SAVE LIVES.
They're maintained N.P.W.S.(and volunteers)...They nearly always have a log book for visitors to sign.
But a number of the huts were burnt down in the 2006(?) fires which swept thru the Park.
There are volunteers working now to gradually rebuild these huts...
