theres not really alot you can do. sometimes if the gaff mark is jagged ill cut off the hanging flesh making it somewhat clean. be careful not to do more damage. then you have to decide if theres a problem{fungus/aphids/ect} after youve exhausted all other options you have to decide if you want to resort to chemical applications to remove the problems. expert suggest :dont cover and dont make bigger.
