Mud nests are also constructed by Magpie-Larks (or Pee-Wees).
Pizzey (Field Guide to Birds of Aust.) states habitat is anywhere there are trees and mud for nest building: trees by rivers, wetlands; widespread in urban areas but absent in waterless deserts and dense forests. Geographically widespread, all states excepting inland WA.

Here are some pics of a nest here in the Illawarra, amongst Casuarina glauca woodland on low-lying (infilled) lagoon area ...in from Towradgi Beach.

This nest is "in use".
