What it was Ekka, was metal fatigue, this chipper has gone through the mill I kid you not,I have rebuilt impact bed on the feed shoot,shatered the original,so I made the new one out of much thicker section,just to mention another mod I done to this machine,I thought it looked a bit strange when we left the job and I got under it and had a look,but it looked good,at the piont of failyer one section has surface rust on it so it's been cracked for a while but the rest of the break piont is bright and crystaline so it just let rip.It was a good one no injury to persons,just to my pocket and the inconvience of it all. First job in the mourning is to bolt it all back together again and strait back to work to catch up.I'd have to put it down as poor design...wear and tear |
