Did you ever get to see this video DBS arranged about loggers, was on cable TV there, bloody good.

Risk takers TV show "Loggers"

I'd like to see some of that fireman tree cutting footage too like smokechaser does, that should be the next show!
We have big trees around here, for sure. Huge old doug firs. And older oaks and maples on this property. They pulled all the old growth firs off of here when the last owner had a heart attack. He had to pay for massive medical bills; they took 78 trucks of lumber off of the older zoned 200 acre lot that this property was part of then. Cedar, doug and grand fir. They cut everything down to 8 inches.

Thing about the PNW lately is that they are felling smaller and smaller trees now. The mills are not set up for bigger trees any more. So they get shipped farther. I still see a lot of trucks with like, one to three massve logs on them, 4-6 ft in diameter. Most go to Coos Bay where they are shipped overseas. Also the huge Wearhauser plant near here gets a lot of logs in from Canada on rail cars to process.

As for TV shows, my brother tells me that they have been fliming a logging show in Vernonia north-west of Portland. Supposed to be like the crazy Ice Road Trucker show, except for loggers. Weather here sucks today, like yesterday. Windy, raining, cold, snow level coming down. And more on the way! Cabin feaver is setting in. I went down to the local saw shop to get some loops, and yak with the locals. Should be flooding here again tonight.
