One thing is handy - it's probably just a 60 or 70 minute drive from our house to the area where the mushrooms are growing. Just a few miles shy of Crater Lake.
Maybe I can look for some to photograph myself in summer.
I'm sure I won't be the only person paying closer attention to streams in the years ahead - in other parts of Oregon. It's hard to imagine that the organism would be limited to just the Rogue River.
