Default Arb 2, Class 2007 - Mt Wilson

Well as you guys know, I'm currently studying towards my lvl 5. Last weekend, Arb 2 (@ Ryde TAFE) camped at Mt Wilson in the Blue Mountains. Where we stayed (private property) was an old volcano where the top had capped over. With some of the best soil in the world.

We did a range of work on these beautiful magnificant trees. Removed a few (Cypresses) dead limbs, dead leaders, 40 metre tree where the rootplate was lifting. Headed, blocked and bucked some of the old dead cedars and redwoods. We also milled up some of the cedar.

Here are the pics.

This is Baraniko.

That's Baraniko climbing up to set the block so he can lower out that dead piece over the garage.

This is Greg. He removed the head/branches from the Cypress that had its root plate lifting.

That's me, going up my dead Cypress.

This is Tom. A big hats off to Tom, he blocked out two 4 metre chunks, where on one of them the pull line actually snapped. This tree is now down to the lvl of where he is in the picture.

Tree Hugger.

This is where I was coming down, my lines are only 30m and the tree was 40m so I had to retie-in.

Some beautiful slabs we milled up.

The Truck n Chipper cleaning up... Guess what kind of chipper it was?

This Friday is my last Friday for lvl 2 Arb. Can't wait til next year for lvl 3.
