Please don't. This device will do SRT and 2:1 doubled rope technique, but not 1:1 doubled, so it it is limited in what it can do for you.
It does SRT remarkable well, but without an intrinsic, captive lockoff you can only feel so secure. I think we need a piece that requires less babysitting.
This was not an attempt at making our 'go all three techniques' device. The three-tech will be nearly as simple, nearly as small and hopefully lighter.
This frame hook just sort of threw itself in front of us. We may steal the hook/cleat configuration, and pair it with a freino-style spring gate for use in our upcoming tri-descender. |
