The rootballs having grown over the top of very hard (like concrete) road base and in a couple of instances actual bitumen breaking the soil suction was about as easy as I have ever seen...totally excavate the root ball then place bucket on one side and lift....
Three of the trees had low density irrigation pipes running through the root balls so we carefully severed them

. Repairs to irrigation and ALL in ground services were exclusions to our contract (Huzaarr!!!)
