The empty kegs cost you around $80 each, they're yours keep for ever and hold 19 litres.
You need beer gas, I rent a 9kg bottle and it costs around $100 a year and $40 to refill, haven't refilled for over a year.
You need a regulator on the gas, about $100
And of course a fridge.
I just drop off the empties and pick up the full ones. One brew from that shop makes nearly 3 kegs ... 54 litres in a brew. My fridge can take 3 kegs but I usually only have 2 in there so I can fit soft drinks in there.
Way to go, I used to home brew at home and bottle .... bugger that. The brew shop cleans them and fills them, they gas them too and there's a special way to gas the beer, it's not just connect the gas to the keg.
Home brewers tell me they gas the hell out of the keg, maybe 50psi and roll it around some to get the gas into the beer.
The brew shop uses a special gassing method, put it this way, the beer is never flat, if anything it's too gassed and I have to release it some so less/no head.
Also, I own 6 kegs coz the brew shop need a spare full set, remember that, the beer takes time to make.
