Its still called Porcupine Gorge....yes that road is much better than it would have been in 92 but I would still advise caution in the wet!

Not sure of the Euc you speak about (very hard to id the crosses!!) but suspect the paperbark was
Melaleuca fluviatilis, very pretty.
I know the US fellas are thinking why the big deal, but even here in Oz we have bigger canyons in many states, but this one is so similar in topographical form to the Grand Canyon particularly at the viewing platform...btw Bernard did you get tempted to get right to the edge?? We did even started to clamber down but stopped when we realised it ould take at least 50 mins to get down and more to get back!!!!
