Default Re: How to plant a palm tree?

Is the palm already in a pot, or has it been dug up ?
How big is it, what kind is it?

Rule of thumb for planting...
The planting hole should be bigger and deeper than the rootball, backfill the bottom to get the top of the rootball to the same grade as original
Plant it no deeper that it was originally.
Fill and firm 6" at a time
Unless your soil it deficient, or overly clayey, there isn't much need for amendments
Give it lots of water
Cut off any dead or badly damaged fronds
Monitor the crown, especially the heart leaf, it should remain full and upright. Drooping or colour change indicates a problem.
