The climate in NZ is colder than AU..correct me if I'm wrong?..So I would suggest to you if I may, Start your journey in Australia in Melbourne then work your way north aclimatising your self as you go. If you drop strait to QLD/FNQ you will melt for sure, As you know a overheated climber is much more likey to make a mistake and sometimes it only takes one!
