Treestyle if there are no targets under the branch why cut it at all? If it is likely to fail in your opinion due to the consequences of the previous conflict why not cable it with cobra or similar non invasive systems? Over time a dynamic system will permit some thickening and strengthening of the suspect limb. I'm with Eric when it comes to creating epicormic regrowth esp on a species like Jacaranda. (Vet trees is diff can o worms)
