Something like it. Instead of having the device in the tree, a rope goes up and over a limb/crotch, and you are attached with your normal system (as though it were set when you are at the top of the tree ) to the tail with a pulley backed up with a biner. The other end is then attached to 4X4 ( or kanga ). When all this is set up, your groundy takes off in the 4by.

You can then descend as normal..
