I've never tried the big shot pole, as I went cheap and use an aluminum one. I had some problems at first with occasional mis-fires, and started to get some damage to the pouch. I used electrical tape to make a smooth transition between the pole and the bigshot head and the problems went away. I can reasonably assume the pouch was catching on the bottom end of the bigshot head. My pole just fit inside it, so it only had about 2.5mm to catch on. Does the bigshot pole provide you with a smooth joint there, or does it have similar problems?
